A paint finish is only as smooth as the wall under it. In older homes, walls are often cracked, patched or wavy: they are skimmed with a fine filler, sanded and dusted before the undercoat.

What is included

Old flaking paint scraped off
Cracks opened, taped and filled
Skim coat over the whole wall, then sanding
Dust removed, undercoat applied

Good to know

In buildings from before 1949, old layers can contain lead: we ask for the lead report if there is one and work wet, never with a dry sander.
